Watch Sachin Tendulkar’s final Ranji match for free

Residents from the nearby villages of Lahli will be in for a treat when Haryana take on Mumbai in their Ranji Trophy match from October 27.

Not only will they get to see Sachin Tendulkar, who will retire after the second Test (his 200th) against the West Indies at the Wankhede in November, their trip to the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium will be sweeter as the Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning entry to the stadium, which can hold 8000 spectators, on the basis of free tickets.

Preference would be given to local residents and tickets would be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

BCCI treasurer, Anirudh Chaudhary, who is also secretary of the Haryana Cricket Association, arrived at the venue to take stock of the situation on Thursday.

Working in tandem
This being Sachin’s final Ranji match and his first in Haryana, Chaudhary told HT that BCCI officials were working in tandem with the district administration on the arrangements. A meeting is scheduled on October 21 to chalk out strategy on the security of players and international media.

According to sources, Sachin will be staying at a resort on the outskirts of the town, while five hotels have been booked by the BCCI for the other players.
