British Royal Prince William will one day be following in his father’s footsteps to become the Prince of Wales and eventually the King of England. However for now, the shoes he is stepping into are those of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
William has become the president of the Royal Marsden Hospital, which specialises in fighting cancer. His mother held the same role from 1989 until her tragic death in 1997.
The young Royal, in a statement, said that he was “delighted and honoured” that he had been chosen for the job. “The Royal Marsden does an extraordinary job in treating thousands of cancer patients every year. I am delighted and honoured to become president,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Along with the Royal Marsden Hospital, William is also a patron of homeless charity Centrepoint — another position his mother previously filled.
