Facebook Messenger tops iPhone charts

The Facebook Messenger iPhone application enables users to send instant messages and photos to Facebook friends via their mobile. Since being released on October 19, the application has become the most downloaded free iPhone application in a number of countries around the world including France, Australia and Germany. Details of Facebook Messenger and other top free iPhone applications by country* for the week, by number of downloads, recorded on October 24 can be found below.

01. USA
AddictingGames (games)
This application contains a variety of games for the iPhone. The application is frequently updated with new games the most recent of which are the Halloween themed ‘Zombie Burger', ‘Vampire Quiz' and 'Candy Skull Fortune Teller.'

02. UK
Drainworks (games)
This puzzle-based game challenges players to arrange piping in order to collect runaway water; the less water that escapes the more points the player is awarded. The game boasts 48 levels spread across four distinct worlds.

03. France
Facebook Messenger (social networking)
The Facebook Messenger application, released around the world on October 19, enables users to instant message their Facebook friends. The application allows conversations to be held simultaneously between multiple members and features push notifications and photo sharing features.
