On the occassion of India's 64th Republic Day, Google browers were greeted with a doodle featuring the tiger, the lotus and India Gate.

Google was written in the form of stripes across the tiger's body, surrounded by India's national flower, the lotus.

Google also featured the historic India Gate, where Republic Day celebrations took place on Saturday, in New Delhi.

Republic Day celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950.

At Rajpath, a kaleidoscopic view of the country's rich cultural heritage and military prowess were on display at the 64th Republic Day parade on the 8-km stretch all the way to Red Fort.
