The second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will reportedly kick off with double headers over the weekend of April 18 and 19 in Cape Town, soon after the opening ceremony. While the Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play their first game against the Chennai Super Kings on 18th, the Delhi
Daredevils will meet Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.

Some teams were reportedly given a tentative schedule of their 14 games on Thursday night, but were also told that it could possibly change, as the complete schedule was still being finalised.

In a surprising development, the number of venues seems to have gone up from six to eight, but again, there seems to be no home base for a team, doing away with the concept of home and away.

While the complete schedule is expected early Friday, sources said that Durban, the city with the largest Indian-origin population in South Africa, would host the maximum number of games, 16 of the 59. Johannesburg will reportedly host 12, while the rest will be held in Pretoria (8), Cape Town (8), Port Elizabeth (7), East London (4), Bloemfontein (2) and Kimberly (2).

The Wanderers (Johannesburg), as per reports in South African daily 'Cape Argus', will host the final and a semifinal.
