Charging Gurjar leader Col (Retd) Kirori Singh Bainsla with conspiring with the BJP during the Gurjar agitation in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday alleged his relation with the saffron party was open now. At an election meeting in support of party nominee C P Joshi for
this Lok Sabha seat here, Gehlot said, "We had earlier said that Bainsla was tacitly with the BJP, but it is open now."

The Gurjar leader has joined the BJP is contesting on a party ticket from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur LS constituency.

The community is seeking inclusion in the ST list and had launched agitations on the issue.

Gehlot claimed that it was only the Congress which stood by people of the state in times of need and that only the party has "the right" to seek votes.

"No one except the Congress and its leaders have the moral right to seek votes in Rajasthan as only its leaders stood by the people in times of need," Gehlot said.

Gehlot alleged that no national leader of the BJP visited the state after unfortunate incidents in the state, including the bomb blasts (in Jaipur) and stampede in Jodhpur last year.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi came to the state to console the people," he said.

The chief minister also addressed meetings in Jodhpur and Pali districts also.
