Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Thursday indicated that a meeting between him and Tata Motors Chairman Ratan Tata was likely next week in the backdrop of the latter's letter thanking him for offering all help to set up the Nano car project in the state. "Tata has
written me a letter, thanking me for offering red-carpet treatment for setting up the Nano project in Maharashtra in case the company decided to shift operations from Singur in West Bengal", Deshmukh told reporters.

"I have returned from an official visit to Europe today and would be occupied for the next couple of days. However, I will soon respond to the letter and a meeting with the Tata Chairman is likely next week", he said.

Asked to specify the incentives his government would be offering the Tatas, Deshmukh said it was "too premature" to quantify anything at this stage.
