Former cricketer and Congress candidate from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh Madan Lal was on Wednesday admitted to Max Hospital in Noida following high blood pressure and backache.

Hospital sources said that the ex-cricketer was admitted this evening and is under observation of doctors. When contacted, attending doctors refused to comment citing request from the family.

The 58-year old former all-rounder had played for India between 1974-87 in 31 Test matches.
