Claiming that a wave is sweeping across Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh in favour of the newly formed RJD-LJP-SP combine, RJD chief Lalu Prasad today said the entity would win all the 134 seats in the three states in the Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a public meeting here along with
LJP president Ramvilas Paswan after filing his nomination for Saran seat, Prasad said, "(Chief Minister) Nitish Kumar learnt lessons of politics at my house, but is now playing into the hands of Lalan Singh (state JD-U president Rajiv Ranjan Singh). As a result, even seasoned Parliamentarians like former NDA convenor George Fernandes have been denied ticket."

Prasad, who won the Saran seat known as Chapra prior to delimitation thrice in 1977, 1989 and 2004, exuded confidence that his victory from Saran is a "forgone conclusion".

The RJD president is pitted against BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy whom he had defeated by 60,423 votes in 2004 Lok Sabha polls.

"Whatever development is visible in Bihar is due to the crores of rupees the UPA government at the Centre granted. Nitish Kumar is patting his back and portraying himself as the man who ushered in development in the state," Paswan said.

"The NDA has disintegrated and is disintegrting.... Jayalalithaa's AIADMK has jettisoned it in Tamil Nadu and so has BJD in Orissa and BJP veteran Kalyan Singh in Uttar Pradesh," he said.
