Dismissing the Third and Fourth Fronts as a “joke”, BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani today said “no government is possible at the Centre without the support of BJP or Congress”. “Third Front...Fourth Front...it has become a joke. Third Front is theory, Fourth Front is a
farce,” he told a public meeting here.

“With BJP ending the hegemony, monopoly and dominance of Congress, everybody (Third Front and Fourth Front leaders) thinks they will get a chance (to head the Government). There is no chance,” he said.

The BJP has converted India into a bipolar polity, and today, no Government at the Centre is possible without the support of either the BJP or the Congress, Advani claimed.

“No voter in the country wants to see smaller parties form the Government at the Centre. It’s not going to happen,” he added.

Targeting Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Advani said when he visits Maharashtra, people there tell him that he (the NCP leader) is “more of a Cricket Minister than an Agriculture Minister”.

Pawar is the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India.

“He (Pawar) is a friend. I would like him to worry more on the farmers’ plight. The condition of farmers in the country is very, very sad,” Advani added.
