Reacting to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s praise for the capital at a rally held on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi president Vijay Goel invited him for a tour of the city.

The tour, Goel said, would give him (Gandhi) a “first-hand experience of the deterioration of the city in the last 15 years of Congress misrule”.

He said the Congress vice-president seemed to be “totally unaware of the ground realities”. Goel slammed the Delhi chief minister for creating confusion over the full statehood demand for Delhi.

“The Delhi chief minister is misleading not only the people of Delhi but even her party on the issue of development in Delhi. It seems that the Congress vice-president only sees the picture presented to him by the CM and builds his opinion on Delhi completely oblivious to the situation at ground,”said Goel.

Goel said Dikshit should make her stand clear on the issue of statehood.
