In a move that resembles the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) strategy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be releasing separate manifestos for each of the 70 constituencies of the city.

Confirming the move, state unit president Vijay Goel said that the manifestos, which he dubbed a 'local plan' of the area, will be out next week starting with Model Town. Earlier, AAP had also announced that they will come up with separate manifestos for each of the 70 constituencies in the city.

"Our main manifesto will focus on five core areas which are price rise, corruption, safety of women, water and electricity. But we have interacted with several resident welfare associations and found that every area has its local problems which need to be addressed separately," said Goel.

For instance, BJP candidate from Model Town Ashok Goel has held interactions with local residents and given his suggestions for the local plan of the area. "A drain flows between Shakti Nagar and Model Town. The residents of the area have for long been demanding that the drain be covered but it hasn't been done so far.

In our local manifesto, we have included this as an issue. Similarly, senior citizens don't have recreational facilities and this too will be the main agenda for the local manifesto," said Ashok Goel.

All the candidates have been asked to give their suggestions for the local plan as the main manifesto would be released on November 22.

"The local manifesto or what we have termed as the local plan is crucial as generic issues of the colonies are bound to be different for every constituency. For instance in Model Town itself, there are 48 RWAs and all of them have told us about their problems which we have included in the local plan," said Goel.

Earlier, the party had sought public opinion on what issues the party manifesto should address. According to leaders, more than 30,000 people had sent their suggestions online.
