More than any other tournament in the world, the IPL is about momentum. Winning and losing streaks tend to last for three-to-four games and can be hard to break. We have lost a couple and have to turn things around, although it is easier said than done. We need to identify the key moments
and play them better than the opposition. Decisive moments don't come at the end, sometimes they come in the middle of the innings or even right at the beginning.

Like the other teams, we emphasis on the importance of all 120 balls but, there are moments which are more important than others. If a quick scoring opener makes a flying start against you, the key moments could be in the fourth or fifth over of the innings.

Fortunately, we have had some time away from the game and that might help with a change in fortunes. We have four tough games in succession and if we can win three out of four, we will again be in an excellent position as we head into the last couple of weeks of the qualifying stage.

My partner, Shamoné, joined me a couple of days ago and she has certainly lifted my spirits as we head towards the knockout stages. Sham loves India and her enthusiasm for the country and so many aspects of life here is infectious.http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/HTEditImages/Images/27_04_pg17c.jpg

Unfortunately, we haven't yet visited any markets or done any exploring which she enjoys because I have been confined to the hotel trying to shake off a bout of flu and recovering from a stiff back, which has prevented me from bowling in the last couple of games.

I got a surprise a couple of nights ago when one of my teammates sang karaoke for the first time. Brett Lee's musical prowess is well known, of course, but I thought it was confined mostly to the guitar.

It was hard to believe that such a fierce fast bowler could sing so sweetly. He has the voice of an angel!

Overhaul FTP or be ready to witness players making choices

Is the BCCI unfair in expecting its marquee players, in whom they've invested so much, to represent the country in an international game? Or, are the broadcasters unreasonable in insisting that India play their star players each time, since revenues plummet the moment Sachin Tendulkar or MS Dhoni abstain?
