Speaking on the controversial run-out involving him on the third day of the second test match played between England and India at the Trent Bridge ground, England cricketer Ian Bell on Sunday in Nottingham said that the decision to call him back to bat after initially being declared out was made in the spirit of the game. The incident occurred when England batsman Eoin Morgan attempted to hit a four towards deep square leg, which was saved from crossing the boundary by Praveen Kumar. Meanwhile, Bell assumed that tea had been called and walked off the crease before the bells were removed at the batsman's end. Bell was given out after the Indian team appealed. However, keeping the spirit of the game intact, captain of the Indian team cancelled the appeal and Bell came out to bat post tea break. Taking about the incident, Ian Bell said that he was unaware of what was happening on the field, when he was declared out.
