"When I retired in January 2007, I thought that's it, I'll sit back and watch the game, but I have had four great years in the IPL," Warne said.

"It's been a privilege and a pleasure to captain the Royals. It has been an honour. Hopefully, I've helped Indian cricket. I think there is a big future for some of the guys, the likes of Chavan, Meneria, they are gonna be benefited.

"You never say never, especially in my life. I would like to stay involved with the IPL somehow, whether it would be with the Royals or not that I have to discuss with the owners. They have been great to me, so I would be happy to help them," he added.

The Royals today provided the perfect send off to their inspirational skipper by beating Mumbai by 10 wickets, thanks to the allround display by Shane Watson and Warne said the opener's innings shows his class.

"When someone of the class of Shane Watson plays like that it shows you how good he is. Our intensity was up, it shows you how well we can play. I think we won six games, if we had won one or two more, we would have been right up there," he said.

"I would like to say thank you to my teammates, they are a great group of guys and I am proud of the way they conducted themselves on and off the field for the whole tournament. We played in the right spirit."

Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar didn't give any excuse and admitted they simply didn't have enough runs on board today.

"I don't want to make any excuses, there were not enough runs on board and then someone like Watson comes out and plays shots like that, we didn't have a chance," he said.

"Things changed drastically for us in the last few games, we needed just one victory to get to 18 points out of our last five games. and now we are in the do-or-die situation.

"There will be some changes, because its a different surface which requires different planning. So there would be some changes," he added.

Man of the match Shane Watson said his innings came a bit late in the tournament but expressed satisfaction to be able to contribute with both bat and ball today.

"It's taken me a little while to do that, I've been hoping for a day to do that in the tournament so far. Unfortunately it's been a little too late. It's always nice when two parts of your game come together," he said.

Watson also hailed Warne and termed him a great mentor.

"Shane has been an amazing mentor to me throughout my career, we'll definitely miss him but he won't be far away. He will always be around the Rajasthan Royals and me, in Australian cricket," he said.
