In a rather uncomfortable looking red gown, the actor walked out with husband Roman Polanski, whose job for most of the night was to help her avoid any malfunctions (she did have one at the end, while entering her car). For us, this is too risqué, too much
cleavage, too much leg (a thigh-high slit) and too attention-seeking.
The Australian actor has been on fire through the festival, but this is not one of our favourite appearances of hers. We’d have loved this Chanel dress to be a gown, with the feathers as a train, but unfortunately that isn’t the case. This dress is an awkward length for Nicole.
This see-through red beaded gown by Dolce & Gabbana was a stand-out on the red carpet. The addition of the black inlay surprisingly didn’t look tacky.
The Mexican model-actress looked pretty in her strapless lilac gown with a mermaid-esque train. Simple accessories and minimal make-up were the mantra for her as well.
As always, the actor stuck to an androgynous form of dressing, which worked for one out of two appearances. In the day, she wore a structured, navy Chanel jacket with wide-legged white pants. Swept-back hair and no make-up kept her look fuss-free and chic. But on the red carpet, we were horrified by everything except her fierce hairdo. The outfit is shapeless and does nothing for her. Tilda usually pulls off the trickiest looks, but this is not one of them.
