For all the bookworms eagerly waiting for the seventh edition of The Jaipur Literature Festival, here’s some good news.
The five-day affair, scheduled to be held in 2014 between January 17-21, will see eminent authors from across the globe, along with celebs from different walks of life. Announcement of the first line-up of those attending the fest has created quite a buzz.
Along with authors like Jerry Pinto, Jhumpa Lahiri, Amish Tripathi and Samantha Shannon, one will see boxer Mary Kom, lyricist Prasoon Joshi, actors Irrfan Khan and Rupert Everett, as well as politician Shashi Tharoor. Actor Irrfan Khan will be addressing the gathering with screenwriter Sabrina Dhawan on screenwriting.
Boxer Mary Kom, whose autobiography will be out next year, will also be a part of the discussions. This edition of the fest will see sessions on survival of languages that will examine India’s linguistic diversity and the challenges it faces. Online registration for the fest, which will take place at Diggi Palace, Jaipur, have also begun.
