Pailan Arrows defeated Air India 2-1 to make it two wins out of two in I-League 6. The AIFF's developmental side have already matched their wins tally from last season and are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions.
The match was Australian coach Arthur Papas's I-League debut
as he was absent from the technical area in the 3-2 win over Mumbai FC last Saturday because he was away in Australia due to visa problems.
Holicharan Narzary gave Arrows the lead with a neat finish to make it three goals in two matches. Air India didn't look like scoring but the introduction of Junior Elijah brought them back in the game as the Nigerian's cross was headed home by compatriot Henry Ezeh for the equaliser.
Arrows though regained their lead when Milan Singh converted from the spot for the second straight match after Prem Kumar fouled Alwyn George.
Lalrindrika Ralte came off the bench to score an 83rd minute winner as Federation Cup champions and last year's runners-up East Bengal beat Bhaichung Bhutia's United Sikkim 1-0 in Gangtok to register their first win of this I-League campaign.
