Manavjit Singh (Punjab) clinched the trap gold, while unheralded Chain Singh (Army) bagged the yellow metal in 10m air rifle ahead of Beijing Games gold-medallist Abhinav Bindra, in the National Shooting Championship here.
Manavjit won gold with a score of 117+22, while the silver
was won by Birendeep Sodhi of Air India (116 + 23). Punjab, represented by Mansher Singh, Manavjit and Raninder Singh, won the trap team gold.
In the air rifle final, Chain shot 594+102.4 leaving behind Bindra, who shot 591+103.2. The bronze was won by Satyendra Singh.
The free pistol men's event was also completed on Saturday and the gold was won by Om Prakash (Army) who scored 556+93.6. The silver medal went to Gurpal Singh (Army) with a score of 551+96.6, while Amanpreet won bronze.
