The hammering India suffered in the Test series in England and Australia over the last one year has taken its toll. No Indian player finds a place in the ICC Test Team of the Year announced on Thursday.

The team picked by a panel headed by former West Indies skipper, Clive Lloyd, has players from six national teams, including Pakistan and West Indies, but none from India. It reflects the depths to which India plunged in the period taken into account - August 4, 2011 to August 6, 2012.

India lost six of the nine Tests in the period, two in England and the rest in Australia, and both the batsmen and the bowlers mostly failed to make an impact. Thus it comes as no surprise that no India player finds a place in the team picked in batting order.

India, who have started the new season with promise by defeating New Zealand in the first Test, face England and Australia next in home Test series that will show where the team, who have slipped from No. 1 in the Test rankings to fifth.

Dhoni and Kohli have been nominated to the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year.

The ICC Test Team of the Year for 2012: Alastair Cook (Eng), Hashim Amla (SA), Kumar Sangakkara (SL), Jacques Kallis (SA), Michael Clarke (Aus, captain), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (WI), Matt Prior (Eng - wicketkeeper), Stuart Broad (Eng), Saeed Ajmal (Pak), Vernon Philander (SA), Dale Steyn (SA). 12th Man - AB de Villiers (SA).
