World champion Viswanathan Anand played out an easy draw with Fabiano Caruana of Italy in the first round of the Zurich Chess Challenge that got underway in Zurich. Anand was seen pushing for an advantage as black and Caruana had to defend from a difficult position to force the split of the
point.

Gangjee in top-10
Yangon: Indian golfer Rahil Gangjee carded a sedate two-under 70 to open his season with a fine top-10 finish at the Zaykabar Myanmar Open on Sunday. Gangjee finished with a four-day total of 14-under 274 in tied seventh place.

Poulter in WGC semis
Marana, Arizona: Ian Poulter stayed on track for a second WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship title with a 3&2 victory over American veteran Steve Stricker in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Earlier, Matt Kuchar became the first player to reach the semifinals.
