The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has called a meeting of its executive body on January 19. It will be the first meeting of the members after the apex sports body's elections on December 5. The Internatio-nal Olympic Committee subsequently suspended the IOA for violating the Olympic
Charter.
Confirming the development, IOA secretary-general, Lalit Bhanot, said, “It’s a routine meeting to discuss various issues including the suspension of IOA. We need consensus of the members to move forward.”
Apart from the IOA suspension, the national sports code is the other issue on the agenda. The IOA's administrative work as far as the Olympic movement in the country is concerned, had come to a standstill.

New Delhi: Englishman Barry Anderson was on Friday appointed Tournament Director of the inaugural Hockey India League scheduled from January 14 to February 10. Anderson will be supported by five Assistant Tournament Directors — Claudi-us De Sale, Muneer Mohammad, Shakeel Qureshi (all from India), Ian McKay (Scotland) and Howard Pollard (England).
