eying the presidential post of the of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), which is currently headed by Congress leader Raninder Singh.
The elections are scheduled for April 6.
And, before that, the litmus test for the Majithia camp will be the elections to choose four representatives from the 5100 life members of the NRAI on March 4. The four elected representatives will then have the right to vote in the NRAI elections.
From Punjab, Pawan Preet Singh Dhillion (Bobby Badal) from village Badal, is representing the Majithia camp. And, to ensure that Bobby Badal emerges winner, the district administration is not leaving any stone unturned. Of the 5100 life members, the maximum --- 500 members --- hail from Punjab.
To get the maximum vote share from Punjab, the political bosses have directed the local administration, especially the police, to contact the voters in their respective districts and ask them to vote for Majithia's man, Bobby Badal.
Arrangements made “The local SSP contacted us to vote for Bobby Badal, who is a representative of Majithia.
“He even told me that a bus from Patiala would be going and arrangements for our stay had been made at the Punjab Bhawan,” said a life member from Patiala, whose children are active shooters, on condition of anonymity.
“If it's an open voting, we will have to vote for Bobby Badal. If it's by secret ballot, we will have our say,” added another life member.
The maximum number of voters from within Punjab is from Patiala (118), Jalandhar (112) and Ludhiana (70), and special AC buses have been arranged to ferry them to Delhi from the three districts. For others, private cars have been arranged.
In Patiala, the members have been told to assemble at Hotel Garden Resort at 11pm from where the bus for New Delhi will start.
At Jalandhar, the meeting point is Hotel Radisson, while in Ludhiana it's Fortune Classic.
For stay in Delhi, arrangements have been made at the Punjab Bhawan, while Majithia will be holding a dinner at Taj Hotel for the members from Punjab.
“We have directions from high-ups, so we have to do it,” said a senior police officer.
All the members, who are in state government services, have been given permission to go to Delhi and vote for Majithia's man.
