Janko Tipsarevic can finally heave a sigh of relief. After four unsuccessful attempts, which includes the runners-up trophy last year, the Serbian managed to triumph at the Chennai Open on Sunday.

The world No. 9 didn't have to easy. He had to fight for every point against Roberto Bautista Agut.

The 24-year-old Spaniard, who was playing his first Tour final, made Tipsarevic sweat before the experienced Serb fought back with all his might to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in a little under two hours at the SDAT stadium.

Fired up after defeating top seed Tomas Berdych in the quarters, Agut was ready for anything. The world No. 80 began confidently. In fact, he needed just 36 minutes to pocket the first set. However, Tipsarevic's experience proved too much for the youngster.

"Yes, finally I won here, " said Tipsy, as he's fondly called. "Last year, I could smell the trophy (he lost to Canadian Milos Raonic)." For his efforts, Tipsarevic collected 250 points while Agut had to be happy with 150.
