Mahatma Gandhiji’s non-violence philosophy “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” will be heard, repeatedly, from now on the London Underground trains interspersed between other service information.

The latest innovative move by the Transport for London  will be broadcast everyday.

Not only Gandhi, quotations by Sartre, Einstein and other great thinkers will be interspersed between the service announcements as a part of a novel initiative by London transport authorities to make travelling enjoyable.

“The commuters always pay attention to such broadcasts and they will hopefully learn to be calmer hearing the words of Gandhi,” a senior Underground official told HT.
