The Asian Football Federation (AFC) has promised ‘professional help’ to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in restructuring the I-League.

“Mr (Praful) Patel had a meeting with the AFC president (Mohammad Bin Hammam) last month and he has assured the AIFF help,” said AIFF general secretary Alberto Colaco. “Last year, we missed the deadline as we couldn’t fulfill AFC’s criteria,” Colaco said, underlining the importance of an AFC-AIFF association. “With AFC’s help, AIFF can hope to make the I-league one of the best in Asia,” said an AIFF official.
