The executive committee meeting of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) on Saturday came to the conclusion that as per the body's constitution a vice-president is not an office-bearer.

As such, Karti Chidambaram does not violate the basic principle of holding two posts in different federations.

Chidambaram is also president of the Tenpin Bowling Association.

However, it was also agreed that the tennis body's constitution would be redrafted to remove the ambiguities that it has with regard to precise demarcation of the responsibilities of post holders.
