Barcelona president Joan Laporta defended Samuel Eto'o on Thursday despite the temperamental Cameroon striker being sent home from training in midweek.
Eto'o, the Spanish league's top scorer with 18 goals in 19 matches, was excluded from training on Tuesday after a series of bust-ups with coach Pep Guardiola, local media reported.
"The players are under great pressure. One day you can be in a bad mood, another day in a better mood but there has to be someone who makes the rules," said Laporta.
"I understand that Guardiola took this measure for the good of the team."
