Chelsea's season ended in lackluster fashion on Sunday when Carlo Ancelotti's side lost 1-0 at Everton on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
Striker Jermaine Beckford scored the winner with a solo strike 16 minutes from time after Seamus Coleman's sending-off had reduced Everton to 10 men.
Coleman was dismissed for two yellow cards, the second a reckless lunge at Chelsea midfielder Jon Mikel Obi.
Ancelotti, whose job is under threat after his side failed to defend the title, is due to have talks on his future with Chelsea officials next week.
The London club finished second in the table, nine points behind champion Manchester United. Everton finished seventh, four points behind its Merseyside rival Liverpool.
