East Bengal paid for a 10-second lapse in concentration as coach Trevor James Morgan put it and split points with leaders Dempo. In Pune, Mumbai FC went down to Salgaocar giving coach David Booth a win in his first match.

In Kolkata, Edeh Chidi capped off a fine first half for East Bengal converting a penalty awarded after Mahesh Gawli kneed Penn Orji. Dempo equalised through Peter Carvalho who headed home Cressan Antao's header off Joaquim Abranches's corner-kick. Despite dropping their first points, Dempo stay on top with 10 points and East Bengal are second with eight.

On Sunday, OGC will host Air India at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi.
