Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has made his first signing since taking charge at the Premier League club after swooping for Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez.
Martinez was appointed earlier this week and wasted little time bringing in Gomez, who played under the Spaniard during a loan spell at Swansea last season.
Gomez, who has agreed a three-year contract, scored 14 goals for Swansea and reportedly cost Wigan 1.7 million pounds.
"Jordi is a real quality player, has a great left foot and is extremely pleasing on the eye as a player," Martinez said. "I have no doubts in my mind that he will do well in the Premier League."
