Roger Federer won his fifth title at the Swiss Indoors on Sunday as he gave Japanese youngster Kei Nishikori a lesson in teenis play winning 6-1, 6-3 to continue his career domination at his home tournament and end a ten-month title drought.

The Swiss third seed dropped just one point on serve in a 28-minute opening set and calmly dismantled the 32nd-ranked Nishikori to earn a second ATP title of the season.

Federer has played in the last six Basel finals and stands 29-1 over the last six years at the only non-grand slam tournament where he has won more than 40 matches.

The world number four will head to next week's Paris Masters on a high after playing and winning for the first time in six weeks following Davis Cup in Australia.

Federer, who stands 54-12 this season, was playing his first final since Roland Garros in June where he lost to Rafael Nadal. The Swiss now stands 2-2 in 2011 finals.

His other win came at Doha in January.
