Sir Alex Ferguson has recalled two of Manchester United's young stars from loan spells at Preston after the Championship club sacked his son Darren.
Ferguson had loaned defender Ritchie De Laet and forward Joshua King to Preston during his son's reign as Deepdale boss, but Ferguson junior was dismissed earlier this week following the team's slide to the bottom of English football's second tier.
De Laet and King immediately had their loan deals terminated by United and, according to Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay, Ferguson is also looking to recall Matthew James from a season-long deal.
Lindsay told The Sun: "Ritchie and Joshua won't be available (for Saturday's match against Derby) because we got a message from Manchester United that they've been summoned back immediately.
"They would like Matty back as well but his contract is a little different."
