After the high of winning the Nehru Cup last month, the India national team will play their first away match under Wim Koevermans on Tuesday as they face Singapore in Singapore in an international friendly.
This will be India’s first match against Singapore, who are placed six places above India in the Fifa Rankings at 162, at senior international level since 2004 when the two nations met in the World Cup qualifiers.
The under-23 sides of the two countries clashed in the 2010 Asian Games with India winning 4-1. “It's nice to get to play a match on a FIFA date. We look to improve ourselves and are looking forward to a good match. It will be a difficult one," said Koevermans.
