Flying Finn forces Blake out

Flying Finn Jarkko Nieminen defeated two-time champion James Blake 7-6 (7/5), 5-7, 6-2 here on Saturday to reach his third final at the Stockholm Open.

Nieminen, who lost trophy bids here in 2001 and 2006, will play for his second career title against the winner from the second semi-final between top seed Gael Monfils and Canadian Milos Raonic, seeded sixth.

Cibulkova eyes Moscow crown

Moscow: Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova, eighth seed of the joint ATP/WTA 1.5-million-dollar Kremlin Cup tournament, secured her place in the final with a straight-set victory over unheralded Russian Elena Vesnina here Saturday.
In Moscow’s final Cibulkova, 20th in the WTA rankings, will face Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi, who battled from a set down to beat Czech Lucie Safarova in a tough two hour 30 minute match 6-7 (4/7), 6-4, 6-3.
