Gilles Simon beat Eduardo Schwank 7-6 (5), 6-7 (6), 6-3 as France cruised into a 4-0 lead against Argentina in their Davis Cup semifinal. With a place in the final already secured, captain Guy Forget rested Gael Monfils for Sunday's reverse singles and chose Simon.

France could complete a 5-0 rout if Arnaud Clement beats Horacio Zeballos in the final rubber later Sunday. France play either the Czech Republic or Serbia in the Dec 3-5 final. In other ties, Sweden lead Italy 3-1, while Germany lead South Africa 5-0.

Hewitt sidelined with hand injury


Lleyton Hewitt may be sidelined for up to three weeks after sustaining a right hand injury that forced him to pull out of Australia's World Group playoff against Belgium.

Australia captain John Fitzgerald said the decision to replace Hewitt was made late on Saturday after he paired with Paul Hanley to beat Olivier Rochus and Ruben Bemelmans.
