George Teleraph stunned favourite Mohgammedan Sporting 3-1 in the IFA Premier Division soccer league at Barasat Krirangan here on Friday.

George Telegraph, who led 2-0 at half time, scored through Beokhokhe, Subhas Kumar and Biswajit Saha while Mike Okoro reduced the margin for Mohammedans just after the breather.

In the replay of the match, which got abandoned because of heavy rains on Wednesday with the score line reading 0-0, Mohamnmedans, who were going great guns winning all their three earlier outings, failed to live up to the expectation.

While their deep defence looked vulnerable as it conceded a couple of goals within first four miniutes, their main force at the upfront Theodore Sunday looked totally off-colour. The Nigerian-Liberian combination of Okoro and Sunday failed to sparkle and was thwarted by the tight George defence.

After this victory, George Telegtaph propelled themselves in the third position of the league table with eight points from four matches.

Mohammedans, which conceded their first defeat in IFA league this season today, are second with nine points while Mohun Bagan are leading the table with 10 points from four games.

George, which forced Mohammedaans to share points in the both the matches of premier league last season, combined well today and began on a whirlwind fashion and scored their first two goals before the rival defence could settle down.
