Australian former Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt was one of seven players to be handed a wildcard for the men's draw for this year's grass-court grand slam on Tuesday.

Hewitt won the Wimbledon title in 2002 but has dropped to 176 in the world after undergoing career-saving toe surgery in February.

The 31-year-old is joined by world number 87 Tommy Haas of Germany, Belgium's David Goffin and four British players in Jamie Baker, Josh Goodall, James Ward and Oliver Golding, who won last year's US Open boy's singles title.

In the women's draw, a wildcard was handed to British number three Heather Watson, along with compatriots Laura Robson, Naomi Broady and Johanna Konta.

Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova was granted entry to the main draw, as was France's Virgine Razzano, who is ranked 90th in the world and stunned American Serena Williams in the first round of the French Open last month.

The remaining wildcards -- one man and two ladies -- will be announced at the end of the week.
