Jaswant Shetra Ludhiana, March 21 Relegation-threatened JCT jolted Sporting Clube de Goa's title hopes with a 2-0 home win in the 20th round of the second I-League here on Saturday. Putting up a well-drilled team show, JCT struck through Paul MacJames and Jagpreet Singh to temporarily slip out of the drop zone having played a match more.

JCT now have 21 points from 19 games while Mohammedan Sporting, who play Mumbai FC on Sunday, have 19. Sporting Clube stay on 39 from 20 games. At the Guru Nanak Stadium here, JCT's frontline was ably led by Paul MacJames, Baljit Sahni and Balwant Singh.

They were well supported by midfielders Ramandeep, Jagpreet and Sarabjeet Singh. Star striker Eduardo da Escobar was out injured but JCT never felt his absence. JCT scored in the ninth minute when MacJames converted a through pass from Balwant Singh.

Had MacJames made good Baljit Sahni's 15th minute assist, the hosts could have killed the game early. Sahni too went close soon after.
