Real Madrid's manager and coach Jose Mourinho on Wednesday admitted interest in signing England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney for the 2011 La Liga season.
English clubs Manchester City and Chelsea are the other clubs keen on getting Rooney for the 2011 season, the Daily Mail reported.
The chase for Rooney by the Spanish club could have consequences on the future of Brazilian play maker Kaka in Real Madrid, the report said.
Earlier, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti had showed interest in Kaka after getting the best out of him during their time together at AC Milan.
Milan and rivals Inter are both also very much in the race for the 28-year-old, despite Mourinho indicating he is looking forward to welcoming back the injured star in the new season, the report said.
