England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has quit international football, hours after being recalled to the squad for Wednesday's friendly against Hungary.
The 30-year-old Robinson said on Sunday that he is reluctant to be Fabio Capello's third-choice goalkeeper, having not made the cut for the World Cup despite being England's No. 1 at the 2006 tournament.
The Blackburn keeper has made previous Capello squads, but has not played for England since losing his place in 2007 during the failed 2008 European Championship qualifying campaign.
Robinson was brought back into the England setup on Saturday after Capello dropped 40-year-old David James and Robert Green, whose blunder in the opening game in South Africa gifted the United States an equalizer.
