India's Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lucas Dlouhy moved into the semi-finals of the men's doubles event of US Open tennis in New York on Tuesday.
Paes and Dlouhy, seeded fourth, fought hard for a 6-3, 5-7 and 6-4 win over the seventh seeded pair of South African Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman of Belarus in an encounter that lasted a little more than two hours at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
In the semis, Paes and Dlouhy will face the Bryan brothers, Mike and Bob, of the US.
Paes and Dlouhy were lucky to win despite making seven double faults as compared to just three committed by Moodie and Norman.
In the mixed doubles section, Paes and his Zimbwean partner Cara Black will face fifth-seeded pair of Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe in the semi-finals. Paes and Black are seeded second.
