Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says the club will buy two or three new players this summer, but definitely not Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Perez told Antena 3 TV that "Messi is the second best player in the world after Cristiano Ronaldo. It wouldn't be a good thing if they were on the same team, that way there's better competition."
Although the Barcelona and Argentina star is out of Perez's sights, the Madrid president left the door open for Maicon while ruling out moves for Wayne Rooney or Franck Ribery.
Perez said new coach Jose Mourinho had identified four players to bring in one year after spending euro 250 million ($364 million) on signings.
Perez also said former coach Manuel Pellegrini's future was decided after Madrid's Champions League exit to Lyon.
