Rastogi given wildcard for ATP challenger

Asian Games gold medallist Somdev Devvarman and wild card entrant Karan Rastogi will lead India’s charge in this year’s Singapore ATP Challenger starting on Sunday.
Apart from Somdev, world ranked 95th Jan Hajek of Czech Republic, South African Davis Cup star Rik De Voest, Italian Paolo Lovenzi, Thiago Alves of Brazil, Ivo Minar of Czech Republic and Japanese tennis star Go Soeda will be the top draw at the event.
Rastogi, who was part of the Indian side which won the bronze medal in the team event at the Asian Games, has been awarded a wildcard in the main draw of the men’s singles event of the ATP Challenger Tour tournament which returns to Singapore after a hiatus of a decade, Tournament Director, Uthrapathy Shunmugam said.
The tournament will feature both men’s singles as well as doubles event with ATP world ranked players from over 32 countries participating in the tournament.
