Sania's hopes of winning at the Aegon Classics were dashed when she lost her semifinal match against Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Sania started strong with a convincing first set win but a fantastic turnaround from the 20-year old Rybarikova saw her spoil a perfectly good script at the Aegon Classic.
The Slovakian handed Mirza a doughnut in the second set and overcame a late rally from the Indian tennis star on the way to clinching a tight third set 6-3. Meanwhile, former World No. 1, Maria Sharapova's preparations for Wimbledon received a setback on Saturday as she lost 6-4, 6-4 to Li Na of China in her semifinal match.
