India's Sania Mirza made a second round exit from Dubai Tennis Championships, going down in straight sets to World No. 24 Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in Dubai on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Kanepi, who recently reached her highest career ranking of 23, beat Sania 7-5, 6-2 in the $2 million event.
The 22-year-old Hyderabadi, who reached the Pattaya Open final last week, before her second round loss, held a 1-0 record against the Estonian, whom she beat in their first meeting at the 2007 US Open.
Sania will open her doubles campaign with Italian Mara Santangelo with whom she reached the Pattaya Open semi-final.
They will play Urszula Radwanska of Poland and Swiss Stefanie Voegele.
