They couldn't quite end with bang but Syria but managed to do enough to ensure their first full points in the Nehru Cup, courtesy their comfortable 2-0 victory over Nepal in New Delhi on Thursday.
Hani Altayar and Ali Ghlioum struck for Syria, in the 9th and 49th minute, as the last two editions' runners-up ended the tournament with four points, at the floodlit Jawaharlal Stadium.
After receiving a through ball from the midfield, Altayar curled it beautifully into the bottom left corner of the post.

The Syrian was partly helped by the weak Nepal defence that made no attempt to close him down.
Ghlioum made it 2-0 for Syria when he capitalised on Mardek Mardkian's through ball three minutes into the second half.
