Robin van Persie brought up a century of goals for Arsenal as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory against struggling Bolton on Saturday to to ease the pressure on Arsene Wenger.
Van Persie put his side ahead in the 46th minute with his 99th strike for the club before netting his 100th goal midway through the second half.
By then Bolton's David Wheater had been sent off for a foul on Theo Walcott, ending the visitors' hopes of staging a recovery and ensuring Wenger's side claimed only their second league win of the season while condemning Wanderers to a fifth successive defeat. Alex Song wrapped up the win in the 89th minute.
City go on top
Second-half goals from Mario Balotelli and James Milner fired Manchester City to the top of the Premier League on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Eastlands.
Italian substitute Balotelli lashed in a deflected strike on 68 minutes after being teed up by Argentinian international Sergio Aguero to finally break through a stubborn Everton side.
Reds beat wolves
Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday.
An own goal in the 11th from Wolves' Roger Johnson and another impressive strike by Luis Suarez in the 38th gave Liverpool a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime. Steven Fletcher pulled one back early in the second half but Liverpool held on to end a two-match losing run.
Chelsea crush Swans
Fernando Torres grabbed his second goal in as many matches but was sent off for the first time in his Premier League career as Chelsea romped to a 4-1 win over over Swansea here Saturday.
Ramires scored a brace with goals while Didier Drogba added a late fourth which nullified Ashley Williams’ consolation 86th-minute strike.
