A bonanza awaits country's top hockey players. According to Hockey India (HI) secretary general Narinder Batra, those donning the national colours - including junior level - would be up for financial assistance from the federation.
The Sahara Group, it is learnt, is planning to
renew its association with national hockey body. The deal is expected to be signed soon. "Top players would get good amount," is all that Batra said, without divulging the details of the deal.
Currently, the India team is without a sponsor as Sahara's contract had ended in 2011. It was extended for six months, but even that ended last month.
