On Saturday, Boney Kapoor celebrated his wife Sridevi’s 50th birthday and her achievements in the past year in grand style. Many big names from Bollywood gathered at a soiree held at the new south Mumbai club, Alibii, which was launched with this party.
Hosted by Boney Kapoor, MP Amar Singh and club owner Ankit Rawat, the occasion celebrated the popular actor’s success as she turned a year older, including her recent Padma Shree award and the success of her comeback film, English Vinglish (2012). Other than family members, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, eminent guests at the party included Sushmita Sen, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Lara and Mahesh Bhupathi, Shilpa Shetty, Juhi Chawla, Rishi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini and Yuvraj Singh. Foreign minister Salman Khurshid and Subramanyam Reddy too attended the do.
Amar Singh says, “Srideviji is really like vintage wine; she deserves all the encouragement and success. During my time of distress she kept up with me consistently, so I am celebrating all of this together.”
Talking about the Colaba club, which was previously known as Athena and later, Prive and then Ghost, Ankit Rawat adds, “You will be shamelessly spoiled and treated like a VIP. You’ll have an all-new perception of upscale nightlife and understand why Alibii would be one of the most envied spots in Mumbai’s nightlife landscape. It changes every concept and expectation of a club by focusing the experience on you.”
